Prompt Video LLC. was a tech startup based out of San Antonio, Texas, with a goal of making visual content marketing easier for small businesses. The Prompt Video app would include it's own camera and video studio, which would give the user prompts in order to promote their business. The user could select a prompt based on their current needs —e.g. Grand Opening, seasonal sale, meet the team, etc.— and the app would recommend what to say and what to show. After shooting, the user could share the video to their social media pages.
My role as an intern was to create the brand identity for the new business. As with any new startup, this meant there were several iterations of the logo before we felt we found the right one. One of the founders, Angel Zuniga-Martinez, was fond of the history behind the tilde mark ( ~ ) and how it was used to save ink in medieval and renaissance times. Prompt, in some ways, would serve as a tilde to its users, saving them time instead of ink. From this idea, I incorporated the tilde into the font and logos for the company.
Ultimately, the company went through several changes after my internship, and with these changes, the tilde was subtly lost and replaced with a sleeker tech-friendly design.
